Often times we forget to count the many blessings that our heavenly Father has *promised* us in His word. This page will be filled with continual promises from the scriptures, each referencing a different matter. Lets not forget that the word of the Lord is sure, and true. God >promises< us in Isaiah 55:11 saying, “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”  We must claim the promises of the Bible, they were given unto us for hope and admiration, that His people may find peace admits the storm. Here is a neat thought. Someone once did a count of the number of promises in the Bible and this was the the number they counted >5733.<  That’s roughly ten promises a day for a year.

  • God has promised peace. Isaiah 26:3 . “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
  • We do not need to worry.  Philippians 4:6. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
  • The Bible promises peace >as we live according to Gods law.< Psalms 119:165. “Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.”

  • Wisdom is one of God’s promises. James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
  • God >gives< wisdom and guides us. Psalms 32:8, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
  • Do not look to yourself for wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And >He shall direct your paths.< Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
  • God promises to guide you. Isaiah 30:21,”And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

  • God will save your children. Isaiah 49:25, “For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.”
  • Children are a blessing from God. Psalms 119:3-5, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
  • God calls husbands and wives to a mutually beneficial marriages. 1 Corinthians 7:3, “Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.”
  • Jesus gave all for His church, we should do likewise. Ephesians 5:25-33,  “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

God Promises Help in Overcoming Temptation

  • God has promised victory over temptations. 1 Corinthians 10:13,”No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
  • God promises the devil will flee if we submit and draw near to God.  James 4:7-10, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
  • Jesus promises to help us through our temptations. Hebrews 2:18, “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”

God Promises a New Heart and Forgiveness

  • God has promised us new hearts and desires. Ezekiel 36:26. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
  • God has promised forgiveness. 1 John 1:9,  “If w confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  • God promises our sins will be far removed from us. Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
  • We are promised that our sins will be buried.  Micah 7:19,  “He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

  1. If you can think of a promise that really helped you in a time of need, or was comforting to your heart, please share, so we can share it on this page with others. I am often reminded of the good old hymn “Standing on the promises of God.” His word truly has to be our foundation, and learning to take God at His word sadly is a learning curve for some many. It is our hope that we can get some interaction on this page and truly help each other grow stronger in faith! God Bless 🙂

  2. For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. Psa 92:4
Sometimes, God gives us a difficult path to follow as He did with Joseph, Job, Abraham and many others in the Bible. At times, you may feel lost, helpless and even hopeless because you cannot see nor can you understand the ways of God. We have to hold on to His promises and have faith that we will triumph in the works of His hands. This entire chapter has been a source of peace and remembrance for me.

  3. Amen Aviya! When we look at David and His first victory in defeating the giant, we see one thing clearly. David *claimed* and *believed* ; what God has said. He took God at His word, and we see the victory that comes in doing this!
